LOBSTERS!

Remember how I told you that we were going to be cooking lobsters?

We did.

They were yummy.

I was working from home on Thursday of last week.  At about 4pm the door bell rang.  It was the UPS man, with a box.  That had this on it:

I toted it into the kitchen, and placed it on the stove.  I listened very hard, but didn't hear anything inside.  I actually began to wonder if the lobsters were alive!  Hmmm....

I took the arrival of the lobsters as a sign that it was time for my work day to end.  I began getting everything ready for our feast.

(dark 'n stormies were a must for this Maine feast!)

I had hoped we could have some fresh veggies from the garden, but none were ready quite yet...

(4 new tomatoes)

(a cucumber!)

(can you see the pepper??  it is suppose to turn red when it's ready)

Finally, I filled Louis in on the evening's plan.  He was very excited, and wanted to wear his R/W/B bandanna that his friends Katie, Derby & Julep gave him :)  Then, I brought him outside to check out the decor.  He approved.

Finally TEN arrived, and shortly after WIMP and Mr. WIMP showed up.  It was all I could do to keep from peeking, but I resisted!  FINALLY it was time to see the LOBSTERS :)

.

Although we were all quite excited about the prospect of LOBSTERS, TEN was the only one willing to pick them up and to cook them.  What can I say?  We were all a bit worried about karma!

(someone isn't pleased....)

(garlic, lemon & herbs)

(we added some corn & new potatoes as well)

(bye, bye lobster....)

(they didn't "scream", as i was told they would...thank heaven's!)

(the meal came with 4lbs of mussels as well)

(steamed mussels)

(lobsters, corn & potatoes)

(oh, and 4 crab cakes as well!)

Truly a lovely evening, and definitely a first for all of us!

Thank you WIMP for thinking of TEN and I when you saw this Groupon opportunity.  I must admit, even though I refuse to kill them, I would very much like to do LOBSTERS again sometime soon :)

If you are interested in ordering your own live Maine lobsters, we got ours HERE.

Oh, how fun!! I was just telling MB last week that it's time to get our selves up to New England so we can have lobster and a clambake!

I couldn't have killed the lobster either. :)
