Pardon Me. Have You Seen....

.....any mustard yellow or sunflower peep toe pumps in silk or something resembling such?

I will be a bridesmaid in MK's October wedding. Our dresses are an eggplant color, and we get to choose our own shoes. MK's only request is that we each pick a color that suits us, and we are all to have something different. I love the idea :)

I have chosen mustard yellow/sunflower for my shoes. I was so very excited about my choice until I realized they were going to be terribly difficult to find!

I have found two pair that are lovely, but trés expensive. Both from J. Crew. Here is the look I am going for:

The second pair are my faves, and are less than the first pair. They are most definitely a possibility, but I'm not sure I would rock these suckers after the wedding. Can I bring myself to pay $150 for a pair of shoes that I'm not 100% sure will fit into my every day wardrobe? I have certainly spent that much on other shoes...but I also wear them a lot. Hmmmm......

  1. Now that I see the two together like that, I am not sure I like the first pair... the color turns a little brownish near the bright yellow.

Hope your readers find LOTS of options for you!!

  2. Grrrr....and I'm thinking I like the first pair more now :( I think I'm more of a "bow person" than a "twist person".

    Wow...that sounded ridiculous!

  3. I'm going to go ahead and write this even though I just told DSS across the office.. The knot on the second pair almost makes them look summer-y, you know? Just a thought.

  4. I love them both! I have a pair of yellow shoes very similar from J.Crew and I wear them causal with jeans and to work! You will wear them!

  5. try shopstyle.com, just specify what type of shoe/color/price range and it scans the internet for a shoe for you! I had to find a silver dress for a wedding and had a lot of luck with it.

  7. 1) Yellow is the new black

    2) I cannot believe you are questioning a yellow purchase in the first place.

Both are fab-u-lous although I like the top pair better, and you look great in yellow.

    Buy the shoes.

  9. try heels.com...trisha gets to buy shoes for a wedding she's in and she's found a ton of selections that are all very well priced. she's looking for a specific bronze color so you should be fine to find your dream shoe!

  11. LOOOOOVE that second pair. I got a pair of bright yellow suede pumps from Ann Taylor last year, and I have found them surprisingly adaptable in my wardrobe... black, brown, khaki, denim. They look great with EVERYTHING! They're more of a neutral than you think.
