Have you heard of the Shoe Box Christmas effort? My old church used to participate, and I always enjoyed it so very much. The idea is that you put items into a shoe box that are for a little boy or a little girl. Read more about specifics HERE at A Southern Accent's blog post about this opportunity.

I am definitely going to participate this year, because really, who doesn't like the idea of making a child's day :)

We are doing this this year too. We held a contest over at our dog blog and we are making donations to Samaritan's Purse in the winners' names. It is such a great idea. I love the idea that your wine group ladies have too. Every child deserves a Christmas.
The fiance and I are doing this instead of giving Christmas gifts to each other this year. I'm so excited! We're getting married on 12/27 so we decided we'd rather give gifts to a child than give each other a gift followed by a wedding gift two days later.
