All is Well in The Land of Seersucker

Thank you for your thoughts yesterday.  When I took Louis to the vet, they removed his collar and put a rope of sorts around his neck.  He knew this was no ordinary visit, and he started to cry.  Then he peeped on the floor.  And it broke my heart.

When the call came at 12:30 that he was a bit groggy, but doing just fine, I felt myself breathe for the first time all day.  I have heard one too many horror stories of people and pets being put under...and not coming back :(

I am so thankful that was not meant to be for my pup.

("My toofs are clean!!!")

For a few hours Louis stumbled around and his legs wouldn't work quite right.  He cried a bit, because he wasn't sure why he didn't feel normal.  He would stand in the hallway and just look around, unsure of where he was.

I took him to the couch and coo'd to him, and petted him and kissed him.  He sighed and closed his eyes.  And then, after a nice nap, he was back to his old self.  He ate a full bowl of hard food and apparently had a party with his stuffie friends during the night.  When I awoke they were all scattered about, and Louis was fast asleep.  I think he has a bit of a hang over.  We will excuse him this time.

Tonight I've got fabulous dinner plans, and tomorrow we will be watching the Virginia Tech Game with friends in this lovely Fall weather!  We may also hit the Greek Festival for a bit (Yummmmyyyy...).

Do you have any special plans to welcome the brisk weather that is upon us this weekend?

So glad Louis is okay. I remember how sad I was when Bondi had to have his teeth done.. he was literally drunk and crying for about 6 hours after. Like actually crying. i think the painkillers must have worn off and his gums hurt. But he also couldn't walk. LIke in front of other people, and it was embarassing b/c people prbly thought I was feeding him JD. And I can't exactly carry around an 80 lb pup. Anyway, it's over now and at least you know Louis is NOT allergic to anesthesia so you can feel much better if he needs this again!

Have a good weekend T.

I am imagining Louis is the backseat of your car saying, "Is this real life??" :) Glad he is okay!

Glad Louis is doing well. I know how scary it is when they put them 'under'.

So glad Louis is OK. His smile looks dazzling!

This is so odd to ask but is saying "peep" a Virginia thing? I'm curious because my employer says it too and she grew up/went to college in VA. I think sounds much nicer than the alternatives. And yes, I am commenting on this. HA!
