Have Runway, Will Walk

NYC was fantastic.  Really.  One fantastic thing after another.  I've yet to recover from the fantasticness.

Let's see here...Thursday morning Barbie and I boarded flight #%$& from Smalltown, VA to New York City.  Our actual flight was delayed, as was one from 6am.  So when the 6am flight was ready to leave, we went ahead and boarded that one.  We only left 20 minutes later than scheduled :)

(yes, this is my actual photo.  all of them are in this post!  we rode on a "prop plane".  welcome to Smalltown, VA friends!)

It was an uneventful flight, and by the time we had made it down to the luggage carosels our bags were there.

You know a trip is going to go well when this happens :)

We caught a cab to WIMP's apartment in Midtown West and dropped off our luggage.  Oh yea...my luggage.  Before we even left Smalltown, VA my checked bag was 4lbs over the limit.  Oopsies.  But seriously.  I brought 12 pair of shoes.  For 4 days.  Sometimes more is less.  Or less is more?  Whatevs....

WIMP's apartment is beyond.  Just beyond.  Here, have a peek...

Pretty nice for a Manhattan apartment, no?  Oh, and here's the view :)

I was parched after our trip, so we walked a block or two and found a pub.  I always look for a pub.  You can't go wrong with a pub.  I spotted a HUGE green 4-leaf clover, and we hit the ground running.

After meeting up with our friend THE DJ, we grabbed some wine and headed back to WIMP's to get ready for Fashion's Night Out!

(Barbie declared it was time for flip flops!)

(a bourbon AND diet coke.  want those mixed together?  sorry about your luck!)

(me, WIMP & Barbie - New York Fashion's Night Out 2011)

I'm really glad we went, but Fashion's Night Out was not quite what we had imagined.  I have seen pictures of people who were where Rachel Zoe was.  Where Ralph Lauren was.  Where Anna Wintour was.  Next year I will be there.  I will not be concerned with meeting designers, because I really didn't recognize any of them anyway.  And apparently Gant is back in the game.  Really?  Who knew!

I did walk on the runway.  I got a few looks, but it's NYC.  Everyone gets a few looks in NYC :)

We did some shopping on Friday, and I got so many lovely new frocks!  I cannot wait to wear them all and dance around with happiness.  But in the meantime...here are few of my favorite things...

(oh yes...those are little westie pups you see!)

TEN may have also gotten a pair in blue :-o  TEN may have also gotten some other prizes, but I am saving some for Christmas, so I can't tell you about them quite yet.  I did purchase him A Lovely Love Story.  Are you familiar?  It's one of my favorite books.

Basically, the end of my shopping adventure in Greenwich looked a little something like this:

We also visited the Norwalk Oyster Festival.  I enjoyed brisket for the first time.  Yes, brisket.  I don't eat oysters :(

We did bunches of fun eating, and drinking and such, and then it was Sunday.  Time for polo!

(Barbie and I confiscated the mallets at one point :-o)

(Nacho Figueras, who also happens to be a Ralph Lauren model.  Oh my!)

(The DJ, Barbie, The Forecaster & me)

Like I said, one of the most lovely holidays I've had in quite some time :)  I'm so thankful for The DJ and The Forecaster for planning so many fabulous events, and for showing us such a good time!

Oh and Shake Shack.  Of course we ate at Shake Shack.  They were out of the damn doggie treats I wanted to bring Louis, so Shake Shack is also on my sh*t list at the moment.  I will eventually get over it.  Because I love a Shack Burger.  I love them so much that I ate 2 Sunday night :-o

The good news is that I've got 2 weeks to rest up.  And then, TEN and I are headed back to....

We have all kinds of fun things on our agenda (like ghost tours and carriage rides), but most exciting is that we will be doing THIS:

How much fun is THAT gonna be?!?!

I am so sad that I missed you. We were like 2 ships passing in the night.

I have never been to polo and now I want too.

And that apt is INSANE. So jealous.

Now, when are you coming back?
