Teal Toes for Lisa!

I know that so many of you miss her.  Sometimes I'll be walking through the neighborhood with Louis and I will think of her.  I'll be struck with a sense of sadness. A sense of a life cut short.  And then I try to think of something happy.  Something lovely.  And I smile.

Let me just tell you that I am absolutely amazed at the outpouring of love and support for Lisa, Captain John, her family and her friends.  Our little blog world is something else isn't it?  And here we are, once again, spreading the word about another terribly important cause.  I'm so proud to be a part of it :)

I will be honest.  Ovarian cancer is something that I have heard of....barely.  I have never known anyone who has been diagnosed with it (before Lisa), and I wasn't even really sure exactly what happened when one had it.  What are the tell tale signs?  What are the symptoms?

Trish from Pink Preppy Lilly Lover has asked us to join in to support:

"Painting toenails teal, the Ovarian Cancer color, starts the conversation about the signs of this whispering killer," said Carey Fitzmaurice, founder of Teal Toes and a four year survivor of Ovarian Cancer. "The conversation can save lives. Women diagnosed at an early stage have a much higher five-year survival rate than those diagnosed at a later stage. Fewer than 20 percent of Ovarian Cancer patients are diagnosed early."

I'm on board.  I think it's a fabulous idea!  MK and I debated our favorite "teal shade" yesterday on our lunch breaks.  I'm partial to a teal that is a bit more blue.  MK is partial to a teal that is a bit more green.  Either way, people are sure to ask us why in the world we have teal toes.  And we will be happy to tell them.  Won't you join us?

Don't you want your toes to look like this:

You should.  Seriously.  All the cool kids are doing it.  I'm just sayin....
