We arrived in Charleston on Friday evening...
Such a beautiful home! We were so lucky to have a place on the water to spread out and enjoy ourselves. We all visited and such Friday evening, and then it was off to bed.
I'm not quite sure how that's going to happen. But I've decided it none the less.
Later we did a little bit of shopping on King St.
Later that evening we celebrated my birthday. The Real Housewife of Charleston spoiled me rotten! I loved all of my prizes, and wish you could see them without tilting your neck. Oh well...
Sunday the guys played golf. TRHoC and I did a bit more shopping, and visited the most fabulous pup boutique.
Louis is in no way overweight, but I almost wish he was! Please look at this shirt:
Isn't it fabulous?!?!?!
When the guys were came back, TEN and I asked to see some more of Charleston! We were whisked off to The Historic Market, Rainbow Row and Battery Park...
(look at TEN! he's acting silly)
(oops! lookie there :-o seems i am too!)
(aaaaaaand, to the right this time)
For supper we decided on The Boathouse in Isle of Palms. What beautiful views, and excellent sea food. Mmmmm....
Monday was our last day in Charleston, and TEN and I decided that we needed to do something historic. We decided to visit Fort Sumter. The fort is reached by taking a ferry into the Charleston Harbor, and then across to the fort.
(shark jumping? or dolphin swimming? that was the question of the weekend!)
(Fort Sumter from the ferry)
Babbo Natale recommended that we eat at Poe's Tavern. Who knew that Edgar Allen Poe lived on Sullivan's Island for a few years? Not this girl! Apparently he wrote some of his most notable work while living there.
So, after the Fort Sumter tour we headed to Sullivan's Island. I'm so glad Babbo Natale recommended it, and I'm so glad that we went. Absolutely charming, and the food was tasty too!
After lunch, TEN and I headed to the beach. We walked on the sand, and waded in the water, before we got on the road to head back to Smalltown, VA.
We didn't get to accomplish as much as we had hoped, and we've already started planning another trip back in late September. This is going to be less of a "visit", and more of a sight seeing excursion :)
And I'm going to meet Brynn from Wicked Sweet Tea on my September visit as well. No IFs, ANDs or BUTs!

I definitely vote dolphin.
Looks like fun! I need to visit the South... I've never been!
As you know - I heart Charleston too. Remember Brad and I visited for our one-year anniversary.
Poe's is my favorite in that area but next time you should check out some of the restaurants in the city such as High Cotton or Magnolia.
You look so cute in all your dresses.
How many hours did it take ya'll to get there? Six?
Glad you had a great time...isn't it wonderful! Looks like ya'll had great weather.
Yay! I am so happy that you guys had such a fun time. There is so much to see and do in Charleston that it is near impossible to get it all done in one trip.
