Louis has had quite the week! The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show alone has had him pacing nervously! The last time a westie won Best in Show, TVs were Black & White ONLY!
I knew Louis would spend quite a bit of time in the crate over the weekend, so I wanted him to have as much time at puppy daycare as possible. He LOVES puppy daycare:
His daycare has a Facebook page, and they post pictures throughout the day of the pups playing. I love checking in at lunch to see how my little man is behaving :)
Another exciting thing for Louis has been the wind. He really, really, really likes the wind. As in he barks at it. And tries to chase it. And doesn't want to come inside EVER if it's really windy.
Monday, however, was an exception. It was so windy that Louis was almost lifted off of the ground once! He didn't like that AT ALL...and asked me to promptly take him inside. I had to have a picture first. Mean mummy :-o
Monday was also Valentines Day, and therefore Louis wanted to wear his festive bandanna from Katie, Julep & Derby to celebrate:
(this is Louis watching the opening night of Westminster)
Louis also received a Valentine from Katie, Julep & Derby...and he has been carrying it around with him since I gave it to him Monday evening:
(not the best picture, but it is a yellow heart that says "woof" on one side & squeaks!)
Last night I had Zumba after work, and then I headed to the largest walmart on the east coast to get some staple items. I got home just in time to finish watching Westminster. Louis was ready!
He actually didn't move from this position all night. Which is odd. Unless he really did know what was going on. The dogs at Westminster are VERY well trained. No barking or shenanigans allowed. I can't figure out what exactly was holding his attention. But I've never seen this westie so mesmerized before.
Louis' breed is in the LAST class at Westminster. The Terrier Group. Louis is a Westie. The LAST breed in the Terrier Group. We were both anxiously awaiting the westie's turn. I screeched when it was time. Louis gave me a look that said "get a grip woman! simmer down so that i can hear please." Then I launched into a fit of giggles. Needless to say, I missed the westie. I mean I didn't MISS it really, but I was giggling and not paying attention.
He must have done quite well though, as he PLACED 4th in the Terrier Group. Louis was pleased. He felt that 2nd place was more deserved, but he is also of the opinion that if one doesn't win...it really doesn't matter where they place. I, of course, tried to explain to him that winning wasn't all that mattered.
I'm pretty sure my speech fell on deaf ears. Louis picked up his Valentines heart toy and retired to his crate. Voluntarily.
You know Louis isn't having a good day if he goes to the crate voluntarily. Without a chicken treat.
Today Louis is at puppy daycare again, and tonight is COOKING CLASS at my house!! That means Louis will be present and accounted for, AND....he will be sporting his new cooking apron. Okay, well, bandanna. Just wait until you see it on him :)
We will be making a Broccoli Cheese Chicken Stuffing Casserole, or something of that nature. I'm trying to name is something swanky, but at the end of the day...it's really just broccoli, cheese, chicken and stuffing.
More on that tomorrow!
