Lords & Ladies...and Fairy Princesses Too!

Last night my favorite littles came over the for the evening (Little Lord Fauntleroy and the Fairy Princess).  It was BFF & her hubby's anniversary.  So, I readily offered to babysit.

For some reason people always seem rather surprised when I'm excited to spend time with children.  I am an only child, and don't have any little cousins or anything running around.  Maybe that's it?  I don't know.  I do know that little ones seem to latch on to me.  And I've always been a pretty great babysitter, if I do say so myself :)

Anyway, Little Lord Fauntleroy (LLF) and the Fairy Princess (FP) packed backpacks full of toys and books and things to keep them occupied.  I told BFF that wouldn't be necessary, but they came fully prepared anyway.  Apparently LLF had asked BFF earlier if I had any toys at my house.  BFF responded by telling him that I had Louis.  LLF said that Louis was a good toy, but perhaps they should bring some others just in case.

Unbeknownst to LLF and FP, I was also prepared!

I bought everything we needed to make heart shaped Valentine's Day cookies :)  With pink icing.  AND...sprinkles.  What kids don't like to get their hands dirty?  And sticky?  And to make something sweet?  None that I know of.  I also bought construction paper and crayons.  I thought it would be nice to have LLF and FP make Happy Anniversary cards for BFF & her hubby.  See how thoughtful I am?  I know.  It's pretty amazing.

Louis was in puppy paradise.  Two littles racing around the house, chasing him endlessly, begging to give him treats and wanting him to sit on their laps on the couch.  Need I say more?  Happy puppy.

I took so many pictures last night, but unfortunately I forgot to upload them :(  I will have to share them tomorrow.  For now, I will leave you with this picture of LLF and FP wearing MY aprons (doubled over so they didn't trip and fall):

while making what were supposed to be "heart shaped" Valentine's Day cookies:

I still think I get an A for effort.  BFF & her hubby adored their Happy Anniversary cards :)

Fun! Great idea to do while babysitting. It's always great to do an activity instead of parking them in front of the tv.

And people always think I won't enjoy children either, odd. But I was a live in nanny at one point.
