This week I've gotten it together to participate in Flip Flops & Pearls' Recipe Swap. Hooray!
I'm going to share the recipe for cavatini. What I really like about this recipe is that you can make it your own. Don't like ground beef? No problem! Add ground turkey :) Or...Morning Star Crumbles! Whatever your fancy. Cavatini is basically the Italian (warm) version of a Chef's Salad. Whatever you have left in the kitchen...throw it in! It's quick, easy and delicious.
Cavatini
3cups of pasta (any kind/mix & match)
1lb ground beef
1 package pepperoni
1 jar of sliced mushrooms
2cups shredded mozzarella cheese
16oz spaghetti sauce of any kind
****Reminder, this is what I used. You can switch out cheeses, meats, pasta, sauce. Make it your own! Just use these measurements as a guide :)
1. Boil pasta
2. Brown ground beef
3. Cut pepperoni into quarters
4. Preheat to 350.
5. Dump everything into A 9x13 baking dish and stir it up. Don't cover.
6. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
Next week I plan to share my recipe for Chicken Stroganoff Pot Pie made in the crock pot. It's only 535 calories per serving! Just as delicious as Marie Calendar's, but only 1/4 of the calories :) Mmmmm....
Happy Cooking!

Darn that looks good. I'm definitely making this since that would be so easy to throw together after work.
